Hey, what’s up everyone? My name is Josh Kelley and I am the owner of The Rack Shack. I have been a hunter, fishermen and outdoor enthusiast for almost 30 years. I first started hunting when I was 13 years old. I will never forget the first animal I killed. A big fat fox squirrel bit the dust from a 3″ load of #7 shot from my dad’s Crescent Davis side by side 410 shotgun. I was absolutely hooked! Soon after, I got a Bear Whitetail bow and took up archery. Between fishing and shooting my bow all summer I was never inside! The outdoors lifestyle kept me busy as a kid and because of that I stayed out of trouble; for the most part! Now that I am a father of 3 girls I can pass my love of the outdoors on to them and hopefully others as well. I am starting this blog to inform, educate and hopefully have a little fun too. I started The Rack Shack earlier this year and am very excited about owning a business and taxidermy shop. One of the main reasons I started taxidermy was to save more money to put towards hunting trips. Also I absolutely love taxidermy- it’s an awesome feeling being able to bring an animal back to “life.” This blog will, however, not be dedicated to just taxidermy, but all aspects of the outdoors lifestyle.
At the end of my blog I will put up links to products I have used and recommend.
Let’s start this off with one of the best broadheads out there- the Muzzy Trocar HB. These fly like field points and do a great job on deer! The only time I did not get a complete pass through was a shot on a doe bedded at 50 yards. I am pretty sure it would have been a pass through had the ground not stopped it!! Check these out. By clicking on the link for this product you are helping me out with this blog and I greatly appreciate it!
